The U-shaped staple (kasugai = Staple), a nail used to join two building materials together. In Japan, this form has long been familiar as a symbol of connecting people and things.

We applied that structure to gemstone setting in jewelry. An oval-cut natural stone is gently held by a kasugai-shaped part. This new setting method, which doesn’t require traditional prongs or bezels, lets the stone’s shape and expression breathe more freely.

This ring is set with lapis lazuli. The material is K10.

Lapis lazuli, whose name derives from the Latin "lapis" (stone) and the Arabic "azul" (blue), is a stone notable for its deep ultramarine color. In ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt it was treasured as a "sacred stone" and was even used in Tutankhamun’s mask. Its blue comes mainly from the mineral lazurite, and pyrite can glitter like golden stars within it. Its mysterious presence, as if the night sky were captured inside, has long captivated people.

New style of stone setting

The traditional "prongs" and "settings" used for mounting stones in jewelry are no longer necessary. This new form of stone setting allows for greater freedom in the shapes of the natural stones used. To express this sense of liberation, we incorporate natural stones with various cuts.

Rising ridgeline

A delicate ridge line emerges at the center of the voluminous natural stone. The shape of the kasugai (clamp) part is designed to highlight this contrast.

Engraving on the ring

・Up to 20 half-width characters can be engraved on the inside of the ring.
・Supported characters: alphabet letters and numbers only. ※ Kanji, hiragana, and katakana are not accepted.
・Half-width spaces and symbols are counted toward the character limit.
・Symbols such as hearts are treated as full-width and therefore count as two half-width characters.
・Please refer to the engraving content entry field for the list of engravable symbols.
・You cannot choose the font.
・We do not proofread or correct engraving content in any way. Any errors in the inscription are the purchaser’s responsibility. Please understand this in advance.
・Because the engraving will be very small, using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS improves legibility.

About gift wrapping

An original jewelry pouch is included. Place the item inside the pouch and it will be delivered in a box.
