STORY01: How to Connect Initials

Engrave the initials of your family and loved ones. Even the standard engraving content at our store reflects individuality in the way they are connected.

An engraving that resembles a mathematical equation, connecting the initials of the couple with a "+" and the initials of the children with an "=".

Between the initials of the two, a heart is placed.

The father and mother use uppercase letters, while the children use lowercase letters for their initials.

STORY02: To Our Unborn Child

Engrave a message or sentiment for your baby on a baby ring. A long, long time spent on parent-child communication. Twenty years later, what will you feel when you touch that engraving?

Many Happy Returns" is a commonly requested engraving for baby rings. Literally translated, it means "may there be much happiness," but it is actually used as a message that conveys "happy birthday."

Some people choose to engrave the time of birth, weight, and height of their baby on the ring.

STORY03: Wear the Message

Sometimes jewelry can have an effect on the heart. Items like the Amulet Ring have often been worn as a talisman since ancient times. In our store, there are also those who engrave messages on rings as a form of encouragement to themselves.

"never forget 2021". Is it a year that holds some special memories or events you want to keep in mind? A message that conveys a strong will.

A message that was often seen during the COVID-19 pandemic was "take it easy." When the world is shrouded in a heavy atmosphere, simply wearing the message "let's take it easy" can lighten the heart a little. I believe that jewelry has that kind of effect. Another ring has the message "love me as I am." This is a phrase often used in movie and music titles. Many people choose to engrave their favorite words.

STORY04: Putting Thought into Gifts

Mr. Y, who came to the atelier in search of a ring to give during a proposal, wanted to incorporate a message into the ring. After discussing various options, we ultimately arrived at "grow old with me." This is also the title of a song that John Lennon gifted to Yoko Ono. After singing that, John continues with "The Best is Yet To Be." I felt it was a wonderful message that conveys a positive outlook towards the future.

STORY05: In a Milestone Year

From the 20s to the 30s, and from the 30s to the 40s. When reaching a significant milestone, one often wants to leave behind something memorable. Some people choose to commemorate milestone birthdays, such as the "40th birthday."

Make the engraving text a little larger

For rings with a width of 1mm, such as baby rings, the size of the engraved letters will also be smaller to match the width of the ring. If you want to engrave the entire text as large as possible, some creativity will be required.

Collection of Stories | リング刻印 vol.1|cobaco

First, please take a look at this engraving example. The name part is engraved in uppercase as "HANA". The width of the letters is uniform from the birthday date to the name, so the entire text is engraved in equal size.

Next, please take a look at this engraving. It is an example of an engraving that combines uppercase and lowercase letters. What I would like you to pay attention to is the lowercase "y" part.

Collection of Stories | リング刻印 vol.1|cobaco

Compared to the engraving example "2018.5.10 HANA" that you just viewed, in the engraving example "Always with you," the letter "y" protrudes below the underline.

The engraving is done on the inside of the ring in alignment with the blue line under the "y", which makes the entire engraving appear slightly smaller due to the inclusion of the letter "y".

If the characters you want to engrave include letters like "y" or "g", please use "Y" or
Aligning the text in uppercase like "G" makes it easier to read with the entire text engraved across the width of the ring.

Please use this as a reference when you're unsure about the engraving content.

*Depending on the angle at which the ring is photographed, there may appear to be a difference in the depth of the engraving, but in reality, it is consistently engraved.
